Laura Nelson Baker

American author. Born in 1911 in Iowa. She worked as an editor and at the Bancroft Library at the University of California, before becoming a full time author. She wrote a number of children's books and also short stories and articles for teen magazines. Some of her books were co-authored with fellow author/poet Adrien Stoutenburg, with whom
she lived. Two of Ms. Baker's books have a horsy theme.
